If for some reason we can’t take care of you online and you need to come to our office, we will apply your telemedicine payment to the cost of an in-person visit on the same or following day.
Why use telemedicine?
Telemedicine lets you quickly, conveniently, and economically connect with WellNow for routine issues such as prescription refills, visit follow-ups, health questions, or new case evaluations.
What are some common health issues conducive to a virtual visit?
Health issues most appropriate for telemedicine consults include: colds, bronchitis, allergies, pink eye, urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, sinusitis, ear infections, rashes, cold sores, and fungal infections.
How can I be treated without a physical exam?
For many issues, our medical professionals do not need to perform an in-person exam to diagnose and treat. Understanding your symptoms, coupled with a virtual discussion, is often sufficient. That said, there are cases that cannot be addressed through telemedicine. When we believe that telemedicine may not be appropriate (i.e., if you need lab tests or need someone to listen to your lungs or look into your ears), you may be directed by our staff to come in for an onsite visit.
Can I be prescribed medication through Hale?
If our staff decides that medication is appropriate, he or she can fill a prescription for you at WellNow or send the prescription to your pharmacy of choice.
Is my information secure?
Yes, Hale is 100% HIPAA compliant, so your personal health information is completely safe and secure.
What can I do to reduce technical difficulties with telemedicine?
The Hale app is robust but there are a few steps that you can take to reduce technical difficulties including: 1) ensure you are connected via WiFi rather than a cellular connection and 2) lean your device against something rather than holding it in your hand for a more stable picture. In the event you are disconnected or if you intentionally disconnect so that the connection is refreshed, just hit “Start Visit” again — this option can be found by clicking on the bell icon.
